Middle Childhood Strategy to be Presented to City of Toronto

The Middle Childhood Strategy will be presented to the Community Development and Recreation Committee (CRDC) on Wednesday 17 October 2012.

Dear all stakeholders of children 6-12 and their families,

This Wednesday, the CDRC Committee meets and decides if the City of Toronto should adopt a Middle Childhood Strategy. This is something that as a Coalition, we have pursuing for years. The time has now come to mobilize and ensure Councilors of the CDRC understand the importance of adopting this Strategy for our City.

We are asking that anyone who is a stakeholder of children 6-12 and/or out-of-school programs help to make this happen. Here are the ways you can take action:

Everyone can: 
Call AND send follow up email to the members of CDRC asking for their support of the Middle Childhood Strategy on Wednesday Oct 14,2012.

  • Kristyn Wong-Tam (Ward 27, Toronto Centre-Rosedale)

1. Today, October 15 at 2:30 at North York Civic Centre- PFR board rm, you can attend the MCMCT meeting to discuss the Middle Childhood Strategy

  • Input on MCMCT’s deputation and ask of Councillors.
  • Discuss how other organizations/individuals can formulate their deputation.

2. Attend CRDC meeting this Wednesday, at 9:30 am at City Hall – come to show your support.

  • Sign up to give a deputation to CDRC Committee as a representative of your organization, as a parent or simply as a Toronto community member: cdrc@toronto.ca agenda item CD16.2(deadline to sign up Tuesday 4:30pm)
  • Submit a deputation in writing to the clerk’s office.

2. Simply attend the CRDC meeting to show your support
